(A year later)...some little tips

I turned 40 in January 2013, and so I began crazily trying new skin care products ALL THE TIME.

Here are a quick few things I found that worked for me:

Best foundation:  Neutrogena Clear Skin Line.  They have colors that match my skin tone better than
expensive brands.  MAC cannot match my skin tone AT ALL.  For me:
Liquid base: honey beige
Powder: Natural beige
Spot concealer: Medium

For under eye: Cargo One Base 08 03 works well for me

Best everyday gloss: Sugar's Rose.   I love it.  Plus it has good ingredients, and makes my lips look younger.

Ulta has $20 micro-facials (20 minutes).  I come out looking brighter, exfoliated and glowing and it lasts for days!

Best brightening serum: Ole Henricksen truth serum  actually see results quickly

Best scar treatment: Kinersase Scar Therapy.

Tip:  use a Baby sun block stick on your eyes for SPF protection on your lids!  I am using Baby  Pure and Gentle Neutrogena.

finally....an update!

OK, so I haven't updated in a while, but here I go.

So, today I went to target.
Garnier Beauty Balm was on sale for $12.99 and I had a dollar coupon = 11.99 + tax
I have only tried it once and so far my immediate reaction is that it does look ok on (I bought medium deep). let's see how long it lasts.  The package says you need to reapply every two hours.  The package also says it is a sunscreen so maybe that is why.

Nice natural separated lashes.  I like it for the price, I like a little more thickening I think.


Yesterday I went to Sephora in JC Penny to pick up a free gift and of course, ended up buying a lipstick.  This one is a Makeup Forever Rouge Artist in Intense = $19 (don't tell Patrick).  It is a beautiful purple and does stay on forever. The color looks nice on medium skin tones without much other makeup.  It has a nice shimmer, but it does show ALL the wrinkles in your lips.

more eyes and face....

so, i am using olay total effects eye cream, it's been about 2 weeks. i see no difference. save $17 and try something else.


make-up forever. i bought it after my playday! love it! you really on need the teeniest tiniest amount. a teen little drop and i use it on my cheeks, lips and eyes and still have to wipes some off my hands. it stays on 8 hours or more!

Playday at Sephora

Ok, so today I played at Sephora. Has anyone tried the brand Make-up Forever? Awesome! I tried the Photo Finish blush (it's a creme in a pump bottle) and a lipstick. both were Fushia-ish, 9not my usual color choice) and I loved how it looked. Really fresh, sheer and summer-y. now if it lasts all day I will go back and buy some.

I also played with Ouidad Clear Control pomade, (great for curly hair). I used it on my hair dry and I love it. Maybe I will have go go back and buy that one if my hair doesn't frizz out today. Good day from trying it out since it is humid.
